The Pioneers faced off against the Menlo Men's Soccer Team on a bright sunny day in Atherton.
Nationally ranked Menlo came out strong as 6 goals were put past the Pioneers. Pacific Union fought hard but were unfortunate when it came to scoring opportunities.
Menlo's goals came from Keni Vivas, Mattia Celant, Ian Brusewitz with 2, Dennis Vanin, and Basil Merk. Assists from Calle Helmertz, Bernardo Silva, Dennis Vanin, and Jeremy Nieraeth. Gianluca Durso was given a red card and Jordan Baumback and Humberto Lujan were shown yellows.
Pioneer goalkeeper Jake Hendricks finished with 11 saves, as Menlo keeper Ben Fish finished with 2.
The Pioneers hope to bounce back as they play at William Jessup on August 30th.
