Men's Soccer Takes First Conference Win Against Park-Gilbert

The Pioneers hosted Park-Gilbert University with hopes of obtaining their first conference win of the season to kickstart a mission for playoffs. The match kicked off at 12 pm with perfect weather for some soccer.

This match was an incredibly close match, with the first goal coming from Park-Gilbert in the 21st minute, but Issay Bravo would follow up in the 29th minute to make it 1-1. Within 30 seconds the Buccaneers would make it 2-1, and again within 30 seconds, another goal for the Pioneers would come from Issay Bravo ending the 1st half 2-2.

In the 2nd half, the Buccaneers would make it 3-2 in the 57th minute, but a goal from Andres Becerra would tie it up again at 3-3.  The Buccaneers would score 4 minutes later to make it 4-3, but yet again Pioneer Andres Becerra would tie it up to make it 4-4. In the 84th minute, Luca Durso would make it 5-4 from a long throw from William Biondini to give the Pioneers their first win of conference play.

Gianluca Durso, Issay Bravo, and Andres Becerra would all receive yellow cards during the match. Jordan Baumback, Gianluca Durso, Hunter Valerio, David Rodriguez, and Dylan Thomas finished with 1 shot on goal. Andres Becerra and William Biondini finished with 2 shots and Issay Bravo with 4 shots.

The Pioneers will face Cal-Maritime Military Academy in hopes of getting their 2nd conference win in a row. Kickoff will be Sept. 25th at 12 pm.
