WSOC Ties in Riverside

Riverside, CALIFORNIA - The Pioneers were coming off of an enormous 10-0 win against Antelope Valley and were hoping to continue their win streak. The Pioneers played against UC Merced on October 22nd, with kickoff being at 7:00 PM PDT on a chilly night under the stadium lights.

For the first half, both teams were in a deadlock going back and forth with each other. Pacific Union recorded 5 shots in the 1st half, with La Sierra recording only 3 shots. A red card was given to La Sierra player Aryanna Ulloa in the 12th minute of the game. The score would remain 0-0 going into the halftime break.

Going into the 2nd half both teams had plans to break the deadlock and gain the advantage. No goal would come until the 70th minute as Olivia Jesse would score to make the game 1-0 in favor of the Pioneers. Unfortunately, La Sierra would strike just 9 minutes later to make the score 1-1; goal by Arianna Perez and assisted by Citlalli Perez.

The game would end 1-1 as both teams were unable to get that deciding goal. The Pioneers will travel back home to play their last home game against UC Merced on October 27th. Kickoff will be at 4:00 PM PDT.
